THE OFFICIAL, ONE HUNDRED PER CENT

BONA FIDE CRIME SCENE SCOTLAND READER'S

POLL OF 2005

Yes, ladies and Gentlemen – for this month only we have our official,
super duper end of year poll. It's the first time we've done
something like this so roll up, roll up and let us have your votes
and nominations which will then be compiled by our editors and
presented in the first issue of the new year. Winners get nothing
except a fuzzy feeling and the knowledge that they are loved by the
collective, cuddly readership of our little zine. Actually the winners won't even realise what's happened, more than likely, unless they hang around here... but you'll know and that's what's important!

The following categories are eligible:

Best Crime Scene Scotland Short story 2005: For your favourite short
published this year in our hallowed pages.

Best Crime Short Story: That you read, anywhere (please include
author and source). Obviously must have been published this year.

Best Crime Novel: Self explanatory I suppose, but must have been
published in 2005

Best Scottish Crime Novel: To clarify the book does not have to be
set in Scotland but must be by a Scottish author in 2005.

Best British Crime Novel: You can include Scottish authors here, too.

Best American Crime Novel: Well, so many of our authors are American
we felt we have to give them their own category, too.

Best Crime Debut: Do I have to explain?

Best Crime related Movie: What was your favourite crime movie this
year?

The Crime Scene Scotland Noir Writer of the Year Award: Your
favourite noir/hardboiled author. Who deserves this grand accolade?
Living, dead or somewhere in between, who gets your vote as your
favourite?

The Biggest (crime fiction related) disappointment of the year: What
really grinds your gears?

The Light at the End of the Tunnel: What are you looking forward to
next year?

Please email your submissions for awards with the heading CRIME SCENE
POLL OF 2005 to comments@crimescenescotland.com You do not have to vote in every category but we'd really like you to!

You can include your reasons for your nominations too, if you so
desire. We'll report back on those that move/amuse us in the write
up. We look forward to hearing from you.
